The dakos (otherwise known as owl or rusk) is a traditional Cretan dish. It is based on the Cretan nut, usually barley.
Main ingredients:
Nut, Tomatoes, Feta Cheese or Cretan Myzithra, Olive Oil, Salt, Oregano, Olives, Peppers.
Implementation:
Soak the dakos or nuts with water. Pour over olive oil and salt. We cover dakos with fresh tomatoes, chopped or passed through a grater. We salt it tomato, sprinkle again with a little olive oil and sprinkle with a little oregano. We finally cover with feta cheese in pieces or grated on a grater. If if you want, add 5-6 olives to the dishes, chopped pepper and capers.
