My name is Andreas Pontikakis and I am a proud descendant of a family involved in olive farming.

The company producing and selling high-quality olives and olive oil is a family business dating back more than a century.

It all started at the end of the 19th century by my great-grandfather who lived with his large family in the mountain village of Achlades, in the area called Keramia in Chania, Crete.

He emigrated to the USA during those difficult years, where he worked hard and managed to save an enviable amount of money. After a few years, he returned to Crete and set up an olive pressing mill which, compared to today’s technology, looks so primitive that it seems to have come out of the Stone Age.

My great-grandfather started working with his sons, my grandfathers, giving value to the olive tree as if it were a golden vein. The next generation went on steadily to develop the olive oil industry, which expanded and expanded in Athens. In addition to olive oil production, the company is also involved in the trade of olive oil, olives and wine.

I represent the third generation. It continues the activities of the company in Thessaloniki, trying to preserve the tradition and at the same time to follow the new needs and conditions of modern life.

SUNNY OLIVES is a company established to produce and offer the best on the market – high-quality olive oil and olives for consumption, continuing the family tradition, accumulated knowledge and long family experience.

That is why the extra virgin olive oil we produce is 100% extra virgin and natural, and there will be no compromising on these standards of quality, despite ever-changing market conditions.

Extra virgin olive oil is medicine, a natural immune stimulant and antioxidant, thanks to which my ancestors lived in flourishing health until old age. Our mission is to show this to the world and make olive oil a must-have ingredient in every meal because olive oil is healthy.
